about me
I am a freelance graphic designer and illustrator based in Perth, Western Australia.
I learnt my trade in print advertising, in the
pre-computer era — when correcting a mistake
in a line of 6pt type involved the careful use of
a scalpel and spray glue.
After a spell as a freelance illustrator, I spent ten years at The West Australian newspaper — first
as an infographic designer and illustrator, and later as Art Director for the West Weekend Magazine up until the birth of my first child.
Since then, I have delivered a wide range of design projects involving branding, publications, websites and social media graphics, large format signage and more.
The design process has changed as digital technology has evolved but the aim of good design has not: to communicate a message simply and efficiently, to the appropriate audience.
And that is why I spend time with each client perfecting the brief to get the 'message' right.
